It’s been quite a year for Ascot United’s young England Schoolboy midfielder James Richardson and now he has been nominated for an EPC sponsored Bracknell Football Award!
James has had several nominations after a continuing to impress for the Yellamen’s first team and also playing for the clubs Suburban League Central Division runners-up and Allied Counties Youth League side.
Most impressively, James earned selection for the England Schoolboys 2019 squad after impressing in regional trials and was part of the Berks & Bucks FA under 18 South & West Counties Championship winning side.
Quite the year. Here’s what some of the nominations we have received said: “An oustanding player in the Ascot United under 18 side. Featured for the first team on many occasions. England udner 18 schoolboys player and also Berks & Bucks under 18 rep team player. Not many young local talent who has had the season this young man has had.”
Another nomination said: “On the pitch James is very good on the ball. He is a very creative player with an excellent passing range, he has also scored a number of important goals. Another reason that James deserves to win the award of Young Player of the Season is due to his many achievements. James plays for Ascot 1st team and is also top scorer for Ascots allied team. He also made the 16 man squad for England Schoolboys and played in all four cup games. He also played a vital role in playing for the Berks and Bucks rep squad.”
