Vanarama National League South side Hungerford Town have confirmed the re-signing of left back Diak John via the club website.

John featured nine times for the Robins as they narrowly missed out on promotion to the Evo Stik Southern League last season after joining in February.

John – previously with Reading Town and Burnham – started last season with Hungerford but only played two league games according to the clubs website.

John could meet his former club in a few weeks time after the two sides were drawn together in the Berks & Bucks FA County Senior Cup Second Round – assuming the Robins can negotiate their first round tie with Aylesbury.

The full statement on the Crusaders website reads: “[John] Boardman & [Ian] Herring are both pleased to announce the signing of left sided Full Back Diak John. John who was with the Crusaders at the start of last season left shortly after the National League South campaign started, to enter Body Building competitions and start a Personal Training business. After a successful 12 months in competitions, John has readied himself back to fitness to compete with the Crusaders.”

John is a welcome addition to the squad and is known for his hard work, speed and determination.

Boardman said “I am pleased to have Diak back in the fold, Diak always gives 110% in his game and can offer us something different” He said “He has been working hard to get back to fitness and has recently featured for Hartley Wintney where he was their man of the match on his first game back. He comes to us stronger than ever and this will only enhance his game.
We have a squad of players who all think the same as each other, who all fight for each other and give 100% on the pitch, Diak is no different and we look forward to welcoming him back.”

It has strangely failed to mention his spell with the Robins though..!
