Bracknell Town manager Mark Tallentire believes his side are ready for the Hellenic Premier Division campaign ahead according to this weeks Bracknell News. The Robins boss said: “It’s a really exciting time now for the whole club.

“After last season, there is going to be a bit of expectation on us, but we have broad shoulders and we can handle that, we are certainly ready.”

The News also reports several signings for Ascot United who featured in the 2-0 defeat to Bracknell on Tuesday night. Windsor’s all time leading goalscorer Rob Lazarczuk has joined along with Rory Knibbs, while Ross Seldon has returned from Binfield.

The Newbury Weekly News having signed eight new players reports that Thatcham Town are aiming to crack open the champagne at the end of the season.

Chalvey Sports chairman Scott Young believes his side are well set to retain their Division 2 East title after impressing in three pre season friendlies against higher opposition including Wokingham & Emmbrook.

Young said to the Slough Observer: “We played Wokingham & Emmbrook on Saturday and conceded a penalty with two minutes to go, so for us there are positives to take playing against good sides.

“We defended pretty well but still looked a little rusty up front. We can take positives from all three games when you consider we’ve only played teams at a higher level.”
