Friendlies: Romp for Bracknell Town and frustration for Ascot United

Bracknell Town’s final pre season friendly programme finished with a 10-0 romp over Evo Stik side Uxbridge at Larges Lane.

Quite what the reasons for the poor showing from the Southern League side aren’t immediately apparent on any of the clubs social media pages or website, but one thing is for sure – you don’t mess with this Robins side.

Bracknell led 5-0 inside 15 minutes thanks to a Seb Bowerman hat-trick, an own goal and one from Adam Cornell while Mark Tallentire’s side stretched their lead to 8-0 by half time – Bowerman scoring again as well as a brace for Joe Grant.

The second half wasn’t quite as goal crazy but it did allow Grant time to score twice more as the Robins made it 10-0.

Ascot United – Bracknell’s opponents in the opening round of Uhlsport Hellenic Premier Division fixtures weren’t quite as fortunate as their final pre season fixtures against East Grinstead Town on Sunday was cancelled.

Binfield were involved in a high scoring match of their own as they prepare to travel to Wantage Town for the start of the season on Tuesday night.

The Moles beat Knaphill 6-0 at Chobham Burymead with braces for Sean Moore and Joss Millar while Jamie McCarthy and Danny Langford also got on the score sheet.

Wokingham & Emmbrook played out a 1-1 draw at Hill Farm Lane against Binfield Development.
