There was a big improvement for Bracknell Town Ladies at home to unbeaten Southern Region Women’s Premier League side Southampton on Sunday afternoon.
The Robins suffered a 13-0 defeat in the reverse fixture on the South Coast but frustrated their visitors for half an hour and restricted their free-scoring opponents to a 2-0 half time lead.
The match finished at 6-0, but manager Dave Ward was pleased with his sides efforts and progress with four games of the season left.
Ascot United are up to third in SRWFL Division 1 following a 5-0 win at neighbours Fleet Town.
Amy Woollard scored twice in the first half and bagged her hat trick in the second – with further goals coming from Georgia Bowers and Hannah Evans while there was a first clean sheet of the season for Charlotte Cox.

Also in Division 1, Woodley United won 3-1 at Wycombe Wanderers thanks to a Bonnie Messitt double and another from Rosie Page-Smith.
One game for us in the Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League Division 2 South, well sort of – it was an awarded win to Sandhurst Town who’s trip to Thatcham Town was awarded to the Fizzers who sit comfortably in mid-table.
