Kai Parton-Edey and Charlie Oakley are fighting it out at the top of the goalscoring charts in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Division 1 East with just over half a season to go for the majority of sides.
Both players sit joint second in the goalscoring table with 10 goals each for their respective clubs AFC Aldermaston (Parton-Edey) and Woodley United (Oakley).
Top of the table is champions Penn & Tylers Green’s Fred Tripp with 11 and it’s not hard to believe either one of the East Berkshire hit-men might overtake him in the near future – thought the ‘green striker has scored five in his last three games.

Parton-Edey’s Aldermaston side in fifth host fourth placed Headington Amateur’s where a win could see the Isotopes up to third.
Oakley’s high-flying – and we have to class now as promotion chasing – Woodley are at home themselves after a weeks rest to mid-table Rayners Lane – although the striker is suspended for the weekends clash.
Given the two players are level on goals, the only fair way to split them is on league games played.. so lets do the maths.
- Kai Parton-Edey – 11 games, 10 goals = 0.909 goals per game
- Charlie Oakley – 9 games, 10 goals = 1.11 goals per game
Woodley captain Oakley currently has the edge with 1.11 goals and it’ll be interesting to see who comes out on top when the two sides meet again in January – Oakley scored one of United’s two goals in the first game, a 2-0 win in September.
Also in contention locally is Finchampstead’s former Bracknell Town striker Harry Swabey. The is only two goals behind after scoring eight in 11 league games.
