Binfield FC suffered a second defeat in two games as they went down 1-0 to Reading based Highmoor-IBIS at Scours Lane on Tuesday night.

It was all square at the break with the sides locked at 0-0 but Devon Reid broke the deadlock in the second half for the home side, sending the Moles back to East Berkshire without a point.

Binfield photographer Colin Byers caught the only goal of the game on camera as Moles goalkeeper Garry Aulsberry stretches in vein.

The result leaves Binfield third in the Uhlsport Hellenic Premier League with Thatcham Town top – the Kingfishers are level on points (23) with Flackwell Heath who they drew 1-1 with on Tuesday night.

Arguably the surprise result of the night was Lynton Goss scoring four for Thame United as they beat FA Cup heroes Brimscombe & Thrupp 5-1 away.

Thame look to be title challengers this season while Brimscombe’s league form is a little patchy – they are though through to the third qualifying round of the Emirates FA Cup and will play Weymouth on Saturday 1st October.

Full midweek results from the Uhlsport Hellenic Premier League

Brimscombe & Thrupp 1 – 5 Thame United

Flackwell Heath 1 – 1 Thatcham Town
Highmoor-Ibis 1 – 0 Binfield
