Bracknell Saint Germain lift David Scovell Goals Memorial Trophy

The Bracknell Town & District Sunday League remembered secretary David Scovell and celebrated the start of the 2016/17 season on Friday night at Sandhurst Town’s Bottom Meadow with the David Scovell Goals Memorial Trophy between Bracknell Saint Germain and Bracknell Royals.

Club chairman Keith Thomas reports:

It was an excellent game played in great spirit by both sides – the result going in favour of BSG who ran out 3-0 winners thank to a hat-trick Damian Bates.

They were three well taken goals. A header for the first, following up of a rebound for the second and a great volley for the third earning him the Man of the Match award.

I wanted to praise both tames their attitude in a game that was excellently refereed by Keiron Brown with help from assistants Denis Keen, Ashley Goodall  fourth official George Mason.

The teams were presented before kick-off to Mr & Mrs Ridgway – David Scovell’s daughter and son-in-law and grandson James as well as Ron Bennett from the Berks & Bucks County FA – all four presented the trophy and awards at full-time.
