Fresh from lifting the Vanarama National League South with Maidenhead United, for Bracknell Town winger Sam Barratt has featured for Premier League side Crystal Palace on trial in an under 23 game at Selhurst Park.
Palace lost the match 2-0 to Bristol City in the Professional Development League South but Barratt played 90 minutes of the young Eagles final game of the season which took place on Tuesday 2nd May at the Premier League ground (we held off reporting until we could get permission to use the photo’s which we think you’ll agree are worth it).

We reported at the end of March that young Sam was on trial at Palace but an injury picked playing for the Maidenhead at Bath City meant he was unable to take part at the time.
Thankfully Barratt got another chance to impress the Eagles – where he has previously been on trial – in the final game of the season.

Barratt appeared in the match alongside Jonathan Benteke, the brother of Palace and former Liverpool front man Christian as well as a host of talented Eagles youngsters.

Back in the summer of 2017, Sam had a trial with League 1 Bristol Rovers after a successful season with Maidenhead and has featured regularly for Alan Devonshire’s champions this season as well as a loan spell with Staines Town
If Sam earns his dream of a professional contract he’ll be the second player with links to Bracknell Town to earn one this summer after Leslie Sackey was rewarded by Scunthorpe United.
