Bracknell Town add Ascot United defender as Tooze confirms Hungerford Town future

Bracknell Town have signed Bailey Lamb from Ascot United as manager Matthew Saunders reshapes his squad this month.

Centre-back Lamb made 11 appearances for the Yellas this season in the Isthmian League South Central Division One after joining in the summer. He previously played for Harrow Borough and Southall.

He is the second Yellas player to head up the pyramid in recent weeks after Cheick Sylla joined Bracknell’s division rivals Basingstoke Town.

A social media post from the club said: “That’s two young lads with ambitions to play as high as possible, who have kicked on this season!”

Gavin Smith’s side have though strengthened, raising Basingstoke themselves for 𝐉𝐨𝐞𝐥 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐧. The right winger has recent experience with Weymouth, Farnham Town and Bracknell.

The Robins meanwhile, as we mentioned here have seen several players depart including long-serving goalkeeper Michael Eacott. Boss Saunders has brought in left-back Konstantin Ivanov joining permanently from Brentford’s B team, centre-back Theo Robinson has joined on loan from Notts County until January and attacker Alfie Bradshaw is on a 28-day loan from Nottingham Forest.

Hungerford Town have seen attacker Kyle Tooze depart. The talismanic forward is a bit of a force of nature on the pitch and has been a regular for Danny Robinson at both the Crusaders and former club Thatcham Town.

Writing on social media, Tooze said: “There’s no such thing as good timing or leaving a club that you wanted to stay at with some good people and friends but these things happen in football. Thank you for your continued support and hope the club reach the goal of play-offs.”

The forward has since been confirmed as a new signing for Western Football League Premier Division Bridgwater United. Manager Lee Lashenko said: “Kyle’s a great player and someone I’ve worked with before. When the chance came up to bring him in, we jumped at it. He’s got experience and I can’t wait to get him involved. He’s fit, ready to go, and he’ll be in the squad for our FA Vase game on Saturday.”
