Stewart came through the youth setup at Linfield, one of Northern Ireland’s most famous and successful clubs.
Following his switch from Linfield to Ballymena in 2023, Stewart, speaking to Belfast Live said: “I came here from Linfield to get first-team opportunities, I knew Jim [Ervin] would give me that and he would trust the young players.
“I was with him in the County Antrim Under-16 SuperCup squad a couple of years ago so I knew coming in he would give me that chance, and I’m very thankful he did.
“All I can do now is to start and pay him back for that.”
