Holyport and Thatcham Town have nurtured two of Berkshire’s brightest stars who will now head up the pyramid. Harry Hoath and Kickie Dzimba are off to pastures new.
Dzimba has been a rising star at Combined Counties League Premier Division Holyport for three seasons and a key man in the club’s play-off finish last season, while Hoath has impressed in the Isthmian League with Thatcham Town.
Both players have links to the ever-impressive Maidenhead United Academy conveyor belt and both will be playing a level higher next season.
Dzimba – a three-time Berkshire Football Award nominee – is heading to Isthmian League Uxbridge saying ‘it has been an honour and enjoyable experience’ at Holyport.
Hoath meanwhile moves up to Step 3 with Sussex-based Whitehawk who play in the Isthmian League Premier Division and was himself nominated for a Berkshire Football Award this summer.
He spoke highly of his former Thatcham Town manager Yashwa Romeo in an interview with Newbury Today saying: “I’d say the first few games [at Step 4] were still an adjustment period. The tempo was a bit quicker and it was a better standard. Yashwa was really helpful, throughout the whole season.
“He understands non-league inside and out. He’ll tell you how it is, he’s the most honest manager I’ve played under!”
