Emma Mukandi heading for Reading FC Women exit

Royals Captain to depart

Reading FC Women will be without captain Emma Mukandi next season after it was confirmed the Scotland international was to depart at the end of her contract.

Wokingham Today reports that: “The club has already confirmed that club captain Emma Mukandi will leave when her contract expires this summer with a squad overhaul expected in the coming months.”

The former Arsenal defender played 35 times for Reading during a three year stay at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.

It has proved a difficult 2022/23 for Reading in the FA WSL with Saturdays defeat to Chelsea confirming relegation to the Championship after eight years.

It is unlikely Mukandi will be the last player out the door with a number of players contracts expiring.
