Former Reading City forward McKoy Palmer is back in the Isthmian League with Thatcham Town.

The ex-Cityzens attacker had been with Basingstoke Town for the last few years, making 36 appearances for the Stoke last season scoring six times, but had begun this term with Woodley United in the Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League Division One.

According to the Thatcham website, the move is ‘a short term deal’: “Mckoy Palmer, a respected player and target of the manager Yash [Romeo] has signed a short term deal with the Kingfishers.”

The Pitching In Isthmian League South Central Division One Kingfishers have had a slow start to the season, losing two and drawing two of their four opening games while they were knocked out of the FA Cup at the Extra Preliminary Round stage 3-2 by Horndean.

According to the Isthmian League website, Palmer isn’t the only recent arrival with Ben Cook arriving on loan from Bracknell Town in mid-August while Jamal Branker also made a return to the club.
