Binfield forward and two time FA Vase finalist Jemel Johnson has announced his Moles departure in a post on social media.
Johnson announced the news on his Twitter account on Monday saying: “Binfield FC it’s been a pleasure to play nearly 250 times for the club. Great club, great people and enjoyed my time throughout. Best of luck next season and beyond.”
The former Thatcham Town man is the only player to have featured in the squads for Berkshire two FA Vase finalists, he was a winner with the Kingfishers in 2018 and a runner up with the Moles this year.
Speaking to Football in Berkshire, Johnson said he was going to continue playing in 2021/22 and was open to offers.
A number of team mates posted responses to the news with Liam Gavin saying: “Big brother to us all, it’s been a pleasure.”
His fellow forwards Asa Povey and Ollie Harris both left comments with Povey saying: “What a guy, appreciate all the chats on and off the pitch, a real leader.”
Harris said: “Great player but even better person, will be missed! good luck with everything.”
Binfield of course will be playing at their highest level next season in the Pitching In Isthmian League South Central Division One alongside Thatcham and Bracknell Town. The Moles have announced a number of pre-season friendlies which you can see here.
