Vanarama National League South side Hungerford Town have signed up experienced striker Luke Hopper for a third spell in West Berkshire.

Hopper joins from fellow National League South side Chippenham Town having also played for Salisbury, Swindon Supermarine, Gloucester City and Australian clubs South Melbourne and Dandenong Thunder.

The attacker’s previous spells at Hungerford cover 2011 to 2013 and 2017/18 when, at the end of the season, Salisbury boss Steve Claridge snapped him up for the club’s promotion push from under the noses (according to the Daily Echo) of Hereford FC.

A statement on the club’s official website said: “Luke brings vast experience of playing at this level and will be a major asset to the talented striker ranks that have already been announced. Danny was keen to bring in another player with regular Step 2 game time to balance with our talented youngsters who are stepping up for the first time.”
