Bracknell manager Bobby Wilkinson has continued to strengthen his squad with the addition of former Chippenham Town midfielder Alex Ferguson, former Cheltenham Town player Ben Markall and Thatcham Town stalwart Gareth Thomas.
Thomas racked up over four hundred appearances for Thatcham Town over the years and was assistant manager to Danny Robinson at the West Berkshire club for two seasons. He was part of the Kingfishers squad which won the FA Vase and Hellenic League double in 2018 having made his debut in 2002.
Defender Thomas becomes Bracknell Town’s thirteenth confirmed signing of the close season and follows former Kingfishers club-mate Felipe Barcelos to Larges Lane.
Bracknell’s fourteenth signing is midfielder Alex Ferguson who has recently been on the books of Chippenham. Ferguson began his career at Swindon Town before signing for Chippenham where he won the Southern Premier Division title in 2016/17.
The fifteenth addition is forward Markall who started his career with Cheltenham Town before being picked up as a 13-year-old by then Premier League side Stoke City for a compensation sum in the region of £70,000.
Markall then moved on to Burton Albion before leaving professional sport at 18 according to an interview with thetransitionphase.com.
