James Richardson and Usman Lalustani return for Ascot United

It’s going to be a challenge for Ascot United youngster James Richardson to better last seasons achievements for club and country, but you can bet he’s going to give a right good go.

Richardson played last season for the Yellamen’s youth side as well as making seven first team appearances – he also won the South & West Counties Championship with the Berks & Bucks under 18s and played for England Schoolboys.

On re-signing for Ascot, the youngster – who also won the Young Player of the Year award at the Bracknell Football Awards said: “Big fan of everyone at Ascot and the ambitions there, and after recovering from injury I see it as the best place for me to develop at this moment in time.”

The announcement about Richardson is below, along with a smashing highlight reel so give it a watch!

Also returning to the Racecourse Ground is Usman Lalustani who played 10 times for Jamie Tompkins side after joining from Windsor.

New signings

It was a busy weekend for the Yellamen’s secretary with no fewer than three new signings through the door at the Racecourse.

Rory Merrick was the first announced on Friday, signing from Maidenhead United and he was swiftly joined by Tom Wensley from Wessex League side Bournemouth where he made 16 appearances.

Wensley was one of two former players with the other being James Smith who made 11 appearances for Ascot in 2016/17 and two the previous season.
