Nicholas Bignall a striking signing for Bracknell Town

Former Reading forward is newest addition at Larges Lane

Bracknell Town will have four strikers fighting it out for a place in the starting XI next season of the BetVictor Isthmian League Premier Division.

Former Reading FC youngster Nicholas Bignall is the latest player to sign on and joins Lee Barney, Nathan Minhas and Shane Cooper-Clark in fighting for a place to lead the line at Larges Lane.

Bignall came through the ranks at Reading, making a handful of first team appearances but also had loan spells with the likes of Southampton, Brentford and Bournemouth before departing the Royals before joining then National League South club Basingstoke Town.

An experienced forward and left winger, Bignall’s non-league career saw him take in Lincoln City, Sutton United and more recently Hungerford Town.

His attitude is perfect for the environment we are trying to create at Bracknell

Sam Lock

The attacker is a player Bracknell boss Sam Lock has been looking at for a little while. He said: “He’s a top player who I have admired for some time. His attitude is perfect for the environment we are trying to create at Bracknell.

“He’s a strong technically gifted attacker who will provide competition to our forward line.”

Bignall featured for Bracknell in Saturdays pre season friendly defeat to Maidenhead United.
