Having recently departed Hellenic League side Reading City, Mitchell Parker has signed with Evo Stik Premier Division side Basingstoke Town.
Parker will join City team mate Rob Gerrard at the Southern League Premier Division side having caught the eye of manager Jason Bristow.
Speaking to the clubs website, Bristow said: “Mitchell is a born goalscorer. His goals per game ratio is quite incredible and we are hoping he can make the step up and get a similar return at this level. He showed a real want to come here and it’s been quite an easy process, whilst we know there was a lot of interest from other clubs, I think this club is a really good fit for him. He’ll join an already impressive front line that we have here and whilst he knows there are parts of his game we are going to work on, he is going to be a valuable asset to us this year and hopefully a long time after.”
Parker added: “I wanted to sign for Basingstoke as they have the same ambition as I have.’ Mitchell added ‘I want to help Basingstoke push forward and continue to improve my game in the process.
“I’m extremely excited to get going, I’ll always do my best to help the team push as high as we possibly can.”
