Louis McGrory scored twice as 10-man Hungerford Town made it six wins in a row in the Southern League Premier Division South on Saturday.

Hanwell Town were the latest side to turn up at Bulpit Lane and head home empty handed with McGrory scoring in the 8th and 55th minutes for Danny Robinson’s side.

The Crusaders had Jordan Rose sent off with 10 minutes remaining but his side held on and are now nine points off the final play-off spot currently occupied by Dorchester Town.

Hungerford should be able to extend their run to seven wins against strugglers Poole Town on Tuesday night but Sholing away on Saturday will prove a much sterner test of Robinson’s sides credentials.

There was not repeat of history for Bracknell Town away at Merthyr Town, the Robins suffered a 5-1 defeat with Dan Roberts on target for the Robins at 3-0.

Thatcham Town’s chances of staying in the Southern League Division One South suffered a heavy blow with a 3-0 defeat at fellow strugglers Cribbs. Yashwa Romeo’s side are 10 points from safety.

In the Vanarama National League Maidenhead United dropped back into the relegation zone with a 2-0 defeat at home to Yeovil Town.

Slough Town were also beaten 2-0, on the road to Truro City with goals from Connor Riley-Lowe and Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain.
