It’s been a tough start to the Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League Division One season for Woodley United, but the Kestrels made it two wins in three on Saturday with a 4-3 win at Hillingdon Borough.

Football in Berkshire watched on at the end of October as Woodley pushed Deportivo Galicia all the way in the Combined Counties League Cup and since then Kristian Parker’s side have beaten British Airways 2-1, lost to Eversley & California 2-1 and now beaten Hillingdon thanks to a late Ben Anderson winner.

The goal was Anderson’s second of the game after opening the scoring on 4 minutes and Gary Smith restored the lead after both sides went in 1-1 at half-time.

An own goal then made it 3-1 before Hillingdon fought back with a quickfire double on 61 and 63 minutes, Anderson though ensured the three points with his second of the afternoon on 67 minutes.
