Striker Asa Povey made a huge mark on the long road back to full fitness on Tuesday night in the Pitching In Isthmian League South Central Division One.

An unused sub in the FA Cup defeat at Harefield United, Povey came off the bench at the weekend against Chipstead and on Tuesday night, his 75th minute appearance for Ollie Harris resulted in his first goal of the season and Binfield’s fourth in a 4-1 win at home to Staines Town.

The Moles made short work of the bottom-of-the-table Swans with Callum Bunting scoring after four minutes and Josh Helmore scoring twice before half-time.

As well as Povey’s return there was a second start in succession for Phil Veal in midfield, picking up a booking in the process.

Across in West Berkshire, Bracknell Town were enjoying a derby date with Thatcham Town, though it was one to forget for the Kingfishers.

Joe Grant fired the Robins ahead after just two minutes and it was 2-0 through George Knight on eight, with surely blues fans fearing the worst.

However, it was 20 minutes before the next goal – centre back Dan Bayliss with the goal while Knight rounded things off two minutes into the second half.
