Jardim double helps Sandhurst Town to late rally in Combined Counties League

Sandhurst Town got straight back to winning ways after the Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League returned to action on Saturday.

The Fizzers made the short trip to Ash United’s Shawfield Rec in Division One but were behind after 25 minutes and Ian Selley’s side went in at the break a a goal down.

When the Fizzers have needed a goal this season, often that inspiration has come from Joao Jardim and the striker was on target with 20 minutes to go to level things up. He was at it again 10 minutes later when a volley made it 2-1.

The game was then wrapped up by Hayden Richardson who made it 3-1 in the 90th minute to make it four wins from nine for the season.

Also in Division One, it was an eventful game for Eversley & California who drew 0-0 at home to Dorking Wanderers Reserves.

Liam Vaughan pulled of a terrific save when one on one in the second half and the Boars had two penalties saved including one in the 90th minute.

In the Premier Division, it was a disappointing afternoon for Ascot United who were a goal up through Harry Laflin at Egham Town when floodlight failure caused the match to be abandoned at the Runnymede Stadium.
