In the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division, the Stag Meadow derby finished all square with a 2-2 draw between Windsor and Virginia Water.

Danny Horscroft had opened the scoring for the Royalists after just six minutes but the ‘visitors’ hit back with a 75th minute Josh Hill penalty and Enow Ojong thought he’d won it five minutes later with the Waters second.

Drama though ensued when Billy Montague missed the chance to equalise from the penalty spot on 83 minutes, only for Waters Louis Sanders to concede an own goal with three minutes of normal time left on the clock.

Elliott Legg was the hero for Binfield on Tuesday night as his 74th minute scorcher ended Flackwell Heath’s winning start to the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division season with a 2-1 win.

The strike, along with Ollie Harris’ goal right after half-time ensured Carl Withers and Jamie McClurg’s men turned it around after conceding the opener after two minutes.

As well as the second-half performance, there would have been some relief for Moles fans to see captain Sean Moore in the starting line-up after the striker was withdrawn 10 minutes into the 1-1 draw at Longlevens on Saturday. Read the full Moles report here.

With Flackwell’s defeat at Binfield, Reading City took full advantage in this fledgeling season to move back to the top of the table with a 2-1 win at Holmer Green courtesy of goals from Joe Wigmore and a second-half Tyler D’Cruz penalty.

There was a second heavy and surprise defeat for Ascot United in the Combined Counties League Premier Division. The Yellamen were beaten 4-0 at home by Abbey Rangers. Writing on Twitter, manager Jamie Tompkins said: “Not good enough in our last two games and it starts with me. Accountability and honesty needed to progress again. We will respond.”

In the Hellenic League Division One East, the Wokingham & Emmbrook bandwagon rolled on with a 2-0 win at home to Kidlington Reserves, the goals coming from defenders Will Day and Liam Eagle [read the full report here], while fellow promotion chasers Holyport had two goal Dan Rapley to thank for their 2-1 win at home to Woodley United – Max Laschok with a late consolation for the Kestrels.

AFC Aldermaston got their first league win of the season, beating Abingdon United 2-1 with Abdul Ally and Zach Tull on the scoresheet while Chalvey Sports earned a credible point in a 0-0 draw at Penn & Tylers Green while Langley got their first win with a 4-3 victory at Wallingford Town.

You’ll be surprised to learn that a game that featured that many goals and Dean Papali, the attacker didn’t get one with the strikes shared between Zac Gill, Joe Jarra, James Quinn and Levi Thackeray.

In the Southern League South Division One, Thatcham Town lost 2-0 in Gloucestershire at Cirencester Town while in the live-streamed FA Women’s National League fixture, Maidenhead United Women lost 3-2 at home to Chesham United Ladies.

Finally, in the Combined Counties League Division One, the Oakley brothers Harry and Charlie returned to haunt their former side with Charlie hitting a hat-trick in a 3-0 win over Sandhurst Town and Eversley & California lost out to a 90th minute winner in a 2-1 defeat to Godalming Town, new signing Brad Brown with the Boars goal.
