The Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League is well up and running with Tuesday night seeing a second round of fixtures already in the fledgling 2020/21 season.
In Division One, Sandhurst Town endured a night to forget as they lost 4-0 on their visit to Chessington & Hook. The Fizzers, who had used all their substitutes in the first half, conceded four second-half goals and finished a match that lasted over an hour and 45 minutes, with 9 men on the field following a red card and their second sin-binning of the night.
The result means Sandhurst are still looking for their first points of the season and they sit in 19th place in the table, off the bottom on goal difference. Read Rob’s full report here.
Ascot United fell to a solitary goal from a second half penalty away to Camberley Town in a 1-0 defeat. The Yellamen ‘huffed and puffed’ but after Antonio Dembele was brought down in the box, Mark Jordan converted for the only goal of the game.
The highlight for the travelling fans was a full Premier Division 90 minutes from 16-year-old Sam Evans at left-back, duly winning the man of the match award. Read the full report here.
Back in Division One, Eversley & California fell to a 2-1 defeat at Cove, the home side scoring the winner in the second half after Cameron Edwin had levelled for the Boars on 32 minutes.
