Jake Keohane injury blow for Berks County and Wednesday round up

Swords and Reading City both in action on Wednesday night

Thames Valley Premier League side Berks County continued their warm up for the new season with a 3-2 defeat at home to new Uhlsport Hellenic League Division One East side Marlow United.

The Swords goals came from Tom Nower and former Scunthorpe United youngster Lesley Sackey.

The visitors were promoted from the TVPL Premier at the end of the season in what was described as improved but the biggest concern for managers Lee Simpson and Ellis Wood who saw Jake Keohane finish the match in A&E.

A tweet from the club said: “We’d like to take a moment to send our best wishes to Jake Keohane who’s still in A&E with suspected ligament damage in his shoulder. Jake’s had a really positive start to pre-season and we can’t wait to have him back.”

The other game on Wednesday night after a slew of Tuesday night fixtures saw Reading City host Aldershot Town’s Academy side and come away with a 1-0 win thanks to a goal from Nathan Jones.
