First half goals from Seb Bowerman and Kensley Maloney gave Bracknell Town a deserved 2-0 win over Hellenic League Premier Division leaders Highworth Town at Larges Lane.

Bowerman set Bracknell off after just two minutes, beating former Robins goalkeeper Garry Aulsberry and Maloney doubled the lead on 27 minutes. Minutes earlier Aulsberry had denied the little magician from 30 yards.

Highworth did have a goal ruled out for offside in between the two Robins strikes but according to our reporter on the scene, the league leaders only mustered a shot on target in each half.

Report: Bracknell Town 2-0 Highworth Town

A crucial result for Carl Davies’ side in the race for promotion from the Hellenic League Premier – and perhaps the title, Bracknell are now just five points behind Highworth with four games in hand.

The Robins didn’t have it all their own way though, Davies saw the influential duo of Bowerman and TJ Bohane substituted with injury concerns.

The only other Hellenic Premier tie to take place on Bank Holiday Monday saw Wantage Town beat Tuffley Rovers 3-1 at Alfredian Park. Results from Saturday’s Easter weekend Hellenic matches are here.
