James Brazier gave Ascot United all three points at struggling Highworth Town on Wednesday night as the Yellamen came from behind to secure a 3-2 victory.

It was a result that was all the more remarkable given that goalkeeper Aaron Watkins – deputising for the suspended Carl Dennison – received a head injury in the first half causing a lengthy stoppage and then received his marching orders after hand ball outside the penalty area in the second.

Co-manager Jeff Lamb once again took up a position between the sticks – something he might want to think about permanently after he kept a clean sheet and saw his side take a late win.

Earlier in the game Ascot led 1-0 through Luke Wilson though the home side equalised and went ahead just before the break, going in 2-1 at half-time.

Wilson then got his second six minutes after the restart before Watkins was sent off and the drama concluded with an 82nd minute headed winner from James Brazier (pictured above with bandage during the clubs FA Cup tie with Milton United) claimed the points and condemned Highworth to another defeat.
