Andy Findlay led a much changed Bracknell Town side to a comfortable 5-2 victory at Hellenic League Premier Division Longlevens in the Quarter Finals of the Perpetua Press Floodlit Cup on Wednesday night.

Findlay, usually the clubs under 23 manager with Rob Creech had been due to take the side during the previous attempt to get the game played and he gave opportunities to impress to Dan Roberts and Dan Read, both of whom got on the score sheet after the home side had taken an early lead.

Longlevens equalised again but Joe Gater ensured the Robins went in 3-2 up at the break.

Jon Bennett was on hand for the fourth but our man on the scene is certain the Robins fourth was an own goal while Roberts struck again before full time.

If there were any doubts over Bracknell’s readiness for what will be a draining run in and promotion challenge, the depth of squad will only increase confidence that there will be no FA Vase hangover.
