Wokingham Town is up for a Berkshire Football Award in the category of Best Individual Event of the Season.
The Sumas turned 150 years old in the summer and held a huge celebration on the pitch at Lowther Road over the summer.
The nomination we received for the award said: “This was fantastic event over a weekend in the summer celebrating 150 years of Wokingham Town Football Club. The club held a tournament, brought back legends and showed one of their most famous FA Trophy games on the big screen.
“Dubbed ‘Party on the Pitch’ there were presentations to the club on its longevity by the MP Clive Jones and Berks & Bucks FA President Bill McKnight.
“On the day, the club was also joined by former West Ham and England legends Phil Parkes and Alan Devonshire who took part in a well received Q&A, and a team of its former and current players and managers, including Bobby Purser, Micky Noad, Nicky Collier, Mark Harris, Matt Eggleston, Darren Barnard, Phil Alexander, Terry Brown, Ady Williams, and Roger Herridge.
“It was a really lovely day.”
