It’s not often Step 6 sides are mentioned in international call-ups, that is of course unless you are Binfield with a host of Bermudan internationals in your squad.
However the latest addition to the ranks of Berkshire Internationals is Woodley United’s Kasper Hok who has been called up to the Bangladesh u20 side as an overage player for a tournament in the country involving Brazil and Argentina.
The AFB Latin-Bangla Super Cup 2025 is an invitational competition being held in the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka between the 5th and 11th December.
While for some managers, losing a player to an international tournament mid-season would be a huge issue – particularly one flying high in the league. Kestrels boss Jordan Blake however, believes the news is a big positive for the club.
Speaking to Football in Berkshire he said: “It’s wonderful as a football club that we have an international player in our ranks. It just shows how far we have come as a football club to attract a player that is in and around international football. It’s extremely special for the football club. We are hopeful to have more international players in the future.
Blake believes the young defender, who has also played locally for Wokingham Town and Windsor & Eton, has a bright future: “Kasper is a humble, honest, hard working man. Someone who consistently wants to improve. He is a quiet individual but goes out his business and lets his football do the talking. He is liked by everyone on and off the pitch due to the characteristics I have just mentioned but also a brilliant footballer. He is a managers dream to work with and I’m sure he has a bright future at both club football but also on the international stage.”
