FA Youth Cup First Qualifying Round: Bracknell Town through as Binfield and Thatcham Town meet

The FA Youth Cup is into its second matchday with the First Qualifying Round and five Berkshire clubs in action.

There will be at least one guaranteed to make the Second Qualifying Round as well after Binfield have hosted Thatcham Town at Hill Farm Lane.

Windsor & Eton of the Allied Counties Youth League South Divsion beat Aylesbury Vale Dynamos 5-4 in the Preliminary Round to setup a clash with West Division Hartley Wintney who beat Wokingham Town, while Binfield beat Ardley United 6-3 and Thatcham won 7-1 at home to Wallingford & Crowmarsh.

Reading City – in recent years a good bet for FA Youth Cup headlines, were beaten on penalties by Basingstoke Town but Bracknell Town are already through after beating Abingdon United 3-0. The Robins had beaten Eversley & California 4-0 in the Preliminary Round.

25/26 FA Youth Cup First Qualifying Round draw for Berkshire:

  • Abingdon United 0-3 Bracknell Town (Monday 15th)
  • Binfield vs Thatcham Town (Thursday 18th)
  • Maidenhead United vs St Albans City (Friday 19th)
  • Slough Town vs Broadfields United (Wednesday 17th)
  • Windsor & Eton vs Hartley Wintney (Wednesday 17th)

Which teams enter the FA Youth Cup at the Second Qualifying Round stage?

Winners of the FA Youth Cup First Qualifying Round matches can look forward to a possible fixture against a non-league giant and/or former Football League side.

Teams with youth sides from the Enterprise National League will enter, although Braintree Town and Scunthorpe United did not apply.

The teams: Aldershot Town FC, Altrincham FC, Boreham Wood FC, Boston United FC, Brackley Town FC, Carlisle United FC, Eastleigh FC, FC Halifax Town, Forest Green Rovers FC, Gateshead FC, Hartlepool United FC, Morecambe FC, Rochdale AFC, Solihull Moors FC, Southend United FC, Sutton United FC, Tamworth FC, Truro City FC, Wealdstone FC, Woking FC, Yeovil Town FC, York City FC.

FA Youth Cup Second Qualifying Round matches are due to take place on week commencing Monday 29th September 2025.
