The 2025/26 FA Cup is into its third round as First Qualifying Round ties appear on the horizon and for one Football in Berkshire side it’s a ‘once in a lifetime’ opportunity.
Mind you, when Binfield reached the FA Vase and yours truly had a one-year old daughter, that was the reason I threw out for abandoning my family to report live from Wembley Stadium. Thanks very much Ascot United.
Tadley Calleva are on the tele. Or at least the BBC Red Button after the Romans home tie with big-hitters Weymouth was selected as the only televised fixture.
The Combined Counties League Premier Division South side have spent the week preparing Barlows Park for the visit of a ‘chaotic’ Weymouth side who are one of the non-league games ‘big names’.

The Terras have spent eight years in the top-tier of non-league football since the 1980s but are currently a Step 3 side following relegation to the Southern League in the summer.
Weymouth – a team who have as many ‘Club Statements’ at the top of their website as they do Southern League points this season (4) – have seen their chairman depart and manager (ex-Northern Ireland international) Warren Feeney sacked during the week. What sort of side turns up at Barlows Park under returning (and legendary) Football League journeyman Steve Claridge is anyone’s guess.
Tadley – along with five other Football in Berkshire sides – play FA Cup First Qualifying Round matches over the weekend with Tadley’s fixture live on BBC’s Red Button service as well as the BBC Sport website. If you fancy going to the game, tickets are available here.
