Lana Cashmore is up for a Berkshire Football Award in the category of Player of the Season (Female).
The Finch captain has played 20 times for the club this season scoring once as her side look set for a third place finish in the Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League Premier Division.
The nomination we received for this award said: “Lana is the first team captain of Finchampstead ladies FC. She has shown exemplary leadership determination and resilience in nurturing the integration of youth players on their journey into ladies football. Her commitment, attitude amd compassion are unrivalled strengths and ahe is the epitome of a team captain and and inspirational role model to all. Her performances are exemplary and her tireless work rate to achieve team success is superb.
“Off the pitch she inspires and motivates the girls in the clubs foundation and youth development stages of their journey. A qualified coach she also assists with an u15 boys team and shows exceptional multi-disciplinary prowess in all that she does.
“Externally she undertook a parachute jump to raise club funds for the ladies and girls section by undertaking a parachute jump despite a fear of heights.
“She has been outstanding in all respects, both on and off the grass and deserves recognition for her selfless and unrivalled contribution.”
