Bracknell Town go into Tuesday night’s Berks & Bucks County FA Senior Men’s Cup Final after a week of upheval at Bottom Meadow.
The Robins have a new manager in Bobby Wilkinson who was appointed shortly after it was announced the SB Group and Kayne Steinborn-Busse had resumed stewardship of the club from outgoing chairman Andy Hunt.
Wilkinson replaced former player Jon Underwood who had guided the side to the a second County Cup Final in three seasons where a win would add a lovely bit of symmetry to the recent winners with Reading, Bracknell Town and Reading taking home the last three trophies.
Bracknell will miss out on this season’s Southern League Premier Division South play-offs and are potentially looking over their shoulder, sitting as they are just six points clear of the relegation zone with four games to play.
A 2-1 defeat on Saturday to struggling Tiverton Town didn’t help matters but for Tuesday night, it’s the distraction of a cup final against Flackwell Heath at Arbour Park in Slough.
The Robins will be the favourites going into the tie by virtue of being a division higher than their opponents, but Flackwell look set for a play off place in the Southern League Central Division One this season and will be no pushovers.
Tickets for the game at Arbour Park are available to buy on the gate (card only) priced: £10 (adults), £7 (over 60s) and £3 (under 18s).
