Reading-based Westwood Wanderers have a Thames Valley Premier League and Berks & Bucks County FA Cup double in their sights, and there’s the potential of more silverware to come.
The Tilehurst side are reigning TVPL champions having won the title last season by a point from Wargrave – a division that included current Combined Counties League Division One leaders Windsor & Eton, and are currently in first place by virtue of goal difference from the same side.
As well as league demands, Westwood are in the final of the Charles Twelftree Trophy, the County Cup for teams in at Step 7 and below after beating Stoke Mandeville 8-0 in the semi-final a week ago.
Great Missenden of the Aylesbury and District Football League will join them in the Final after beating Finchampstead 1-0 at the weekend.
Aside from going out and winning matches, that’s where the simple aspect of Westwood’s double hopes end.
Wanderers top the table, but have a backlog of games to get in to complete the 26-game season with the always competitive Burghfield up next on Saturday.
Wanderers have played 13 league games compared to their nearest rivals Wargrave (13) and Woodcote (16) while Maidenhead Town have played just 12 and are only four points off the pace.

It is Maidenhead who boast the division’s top scorers with a 1-2 around Jack Beech (19) and Mitchell Burley (16) while Westwood’s 31 goals have been shared across 16 players.
Both sides have opportunities to add to the trophy cabinet with forthcoming Quarter Finals in the Berkshire Trophy Centre Senior Cup.
Maidenhead face Wargrave while Westwood will visit either AFC Winkfield or Holyport Reserves. Both sides could meet in the semi-final should they progress.
