They may have changed manager, but Combined Counties League Premier Division North Holyport have continued on where they left off at the end of last season.
In recent seasons Port have been battling the drop but last spring, the outgoing Sam Lock led the side to the play-offs, finishing fifth and losing out in the semi-final to Rayners Lane.
This season under Adam Hopkins the it’s raining both goals and points with 21 net busters in the league and 18 points on the board. That is until Egham Town spoiled the party, holding Hopkins side to a 0-0 draw at the Runnymede Stadium.
It’s been nine games since Holyport have failed to find the net, the only other time in 2024/25 was the opening day FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round defeat to Yate Town.
Cyril Ocansey has been the man with the goals this season scoring nine so far, he joined Port in the summer from Division One Bedfont, having previously played for Staines Town and Burnham.
It’s early days in the season at Summerleaze, but there’s no reason to suggest Holyport won’t be pushing for a second successive tilt at the play-offs come the end of the season.
