Reading YMCA nominated for Berkshire Football Award

Thames Valley Premier League side Reading YMCA have been nominated for a Berkshire Football Award in the category of Match Day Experience.

YM have, over the years developed land at the back of Padworth Village Hall into a very respectable ground for the level – and it’s fair to say their offerings off the pitch have turned a few heads.

The nomination we received for the award said: “A first visit this season and I have been back a couple of times since. Simply the best tea bar at Step 7 surely? On my first visit it was home made beef chilli, rice and tortilla, great value drinks and a thoroughly enjoyable welcome from those in the tea bar and around the ground.

“The volunteers behind the club have made a very credible ground that would be the envy of many in the division and I suspect some a little higher up.

“They may call it The Cauldron but I felt right at home.”

Agree that Reading YMCA should be up for the Match Day Experience award? Or do you have someone else in mind? Let us know in the nomination form below:
