Pat and Nicky Chambers, the former chiefs at Hungerford Town have departed their new venture at Vanarama National League North Gloucester City.

The pair moved to take an opportunity at the Gloucestershire side in the summer, but on Thursday it was revealed the duo were stepping away from the club.

A brief statement released by the club on social media said: “The club can confirm that Patrick and Nicky Chambers have stepped down from their roles this morning. A further statement will go out during the day confirming the club’s stewardship going forward.”

According to Severn Sport: “Over the last few weeks, sections of Gloucester City supporters have called for the Chambers to leave the club after the side have produced their worst start since the Second World War.

“Following Thursday’s news, social media has been rife with rumours and speculation regarding the next steps for the club and calls for Petheram to return to the club in either the Chairman position or a role involved with the running of the day-to-day operations.”
