The Berks & Bucks FA have made the draw for the next round of their Senior Cup. It’s an interesting competition that can give the chance for non-league clubs to pit themselves against EFL sides in the shape of Reading, Wycombe Wanderers and MK Dons.
After Slough Town’s FA Cup heroics against Ebbsfleet United in midweek they’ll now go from being a David to a Goliath in the Berks & Bucks County FA Senior Cup as they travel a few miles down the road to Flackwell Heath of the Cherry Red Record Combined Counties League Premier Division North.
Holders of the Berks & Bucks Cup Bracknell Town, another doing superbly in the FA Cup, will also be travelling towards the M40 with a trip to Beaconsfield FC. They’ll be familiar foes to the Robins as the two clubs have faced one another already this season in the league, with Bracknell Town going down to a 3-0 loss at home in September.
National League Maidenhead United travel to Didcot Town, while Binfield have a very tricky trip to Hungerford.
Our Step 5 and 6 clubs already have to play their Second Round ties with Berks County and AFC Aldermaston hoping they can secure a trip to Marlow in the next round, while Reading City and Sandhurst Town will play off to decide who earns a trip to Thatcham Town.
If Holyport can defeat Burnham they will host one of MK Irish or Aylesbury Vale Dynamos from Buckinghamshire, while Ascot United will host higher league opposition in Chesham United.
