Wokingham & Emmbrook’s stand in goalkeeper Lorna Edwards certainly had her eye on the ball at the weekend after saving two penalties for her side.

The Thames Valley Counties Women’s League Development Division game on Sunday finished 7-3 to Rotherfield United at Lowther Road with Megan Bartlett (2) and Sunandita Sharma getting the Sumas goals.

Edwards has played all three games this season for Wokingham with her side winning one, drawing one and losing their most recent fixture.

Insisting she was hanging up her gloves after the game, Edwards said: “It wasn’t the result we wanted, or deserved. But after stepping in to goal last minute, and facing two penalties. I’m happy to be hanging up my gloves with 100% penalty save ratio.”
