Reading YMCA’s Mark Lemm is up for a Berkshire Football Award in the category of Volunteer of the Season sponsored by Shorts Group.
The nomination we received for the award said: “Mark is the ultimate football volunteer that any grassroots club needs. He is dedicated and passionate about the club. He gives his time and in the past his money to keep the club running. As a player he is our second all-time appearance maker with 600 appearances, he has managed both firsts and reserves successfully. As chairman of the club, he has raised thousands for projects, this year successfully raising sufficient cash to build our own bore hole which will allow us to have year-round irrigation. He has set up our bar The Cornerflag which generates precious income and his partner Rowan manages it. He also represents the club on the Padworth Village Hall Council giving back to the community. He is the first to volunteer to assist the referee last year winning club official of the year as voted by the TVPL referees. He’s also the last to leave after ensuring everything is cleared and ready for the next game. Quite simply YM wouldn’t exist without him.”
Agree that Mark should be up for the Volunteer award? Or do you have someone else in mind? Let us know in the nomination form below:
