Binfield junior’s coach Neil Kingman is up for a Berkshire Football Award in the category of Volunteer of the Season sponsored by Shorts Group.
One nomination for the award said: “I would like to nominate Neil Kingman for volunteer of the season. Neil has wanted to be a football coach for as long as I’ve known him and he finally plucked up the courage to take his coaching badge back in June 2022. He has been volunteering as a coach for Binfield Heat under 11’s and as Neil would tell you he has never been a confident person but ever since taking on this role he has become more confident. Neil has so much knowledge of the game, he has a burning desire and so much passion to help young children achieve their goals on and off the pitch. Neil hasn’t been with Binfield Heat very long and has been given the chance to manage the team solely by himself and since being there the team has come on leaps and bounds. On the 24th of October Neil was given the opportunity to work with a sideline coaching company called ‘Confidence Through Football’. Their aim is to develop children with both football skills and life skills.”
Another added: “All the free time and knowledge he gives as a coach to u11 Binfield and to make them a better team”
