Windsor FC relegated from Combined Counties League Premier Division North

The Royalists beat Virginia Water but results elsewhere went against them

Windsor FC has suffered a first relegation in the clubs short history despite beating Virginia Watet 2-1 at Stag Meadow.

The Royalists had to win on the night in their final Combined Counties League Premier Division North game of the season and rely on Chalfont St Peter dropping points at Harefield United.

Unfortunately for Windsor their was no great escape despite a late winner from Connor Jeanes as Chalfont won their tie 3-2.

The result means Windsor will be a Step 6 side next season along with Oxhey Jets after both sides finished in the bottom two.

It has been a difficult season for the Royalists with off-the-pitch uncertainty surrounding a possible sale of the club who will now – pending any of the usual non-league reprieves – likely play in the Combined Counties League Division One next season.
