West Berkshire Charity Bucket List Wishes granted a wish for a terminally ill Wrexham fan at the weekend in a moment that left Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds ‘choked up’.

A BBC report over the weekend said that 45-year-old Jay Fear – who has terminal appendix cancer – had ticked off his bucket list wish to meet the Deadpool star and co-owner of his club Wrexham.

According to the report, Mr Fear and his family were taken from their home in Southampton to Wrexham for the club’s 3-1 win over Boreham Wood in North Wales at the weekend. A win that secured the Red Dragon’s return to the Football League after 15 years away.

The BBC reports that Reynolds said: “It was amazing to meet Jay. I wonder if I’d have the same unwavering joy if our roles were reversed. He is an exceptional person and his family is wonderful. I got a little choked up talking to him and feeling how much his kids and wife are going to miss him.”

Bucket List Wishes

Bucket List Wishes was setup in 2013 by Gini Hackett following the death of her mum from cancer. Following the diagnosis Gini bought her mum a book and asked her to write a bucket list.

Helping her mum complete her bucket list inspired Gini to setup the charity and provide experiences for families and friends that they’d be able to cherish forever.
