Reading City’s ground vandalised

The Rivermoor had played host to the clubs first home league game on Tuesday night

Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League Premier Division North side Reading City have had their ground vandalised.

The Rivermoor was, according to a social media post by the club, broken into on Tuesday night with the changing rooms trashed and pipe work stolen.

City – who played their first home league game of the season on Tuesday night – had members of their club arrive on site on Wednesday morning to find the damage, with water left running.

City manager Simon Johnson summed it up on Twitter: “Honestly. Repeat occurrence. Absolute scum of the earth.”

If you have any information on the break-in, please head to the Thames Valley Police website here and quote reference number 20220914 – 0458.

If you are able to offer help to the club, we can send on your details via our Contact Us page here.
