Binfield Football Club’s kids Soccer School has been given a Berkshire Football Awards nomination in the Man V Fat Best Community Campaign or Content category.

The popular sessions have been running at Hill Farm Lane for years and count a number of players who have gone on to play senior football both for the club and in the Football League amongst its successes.

The nomination received for the Soccer School said: “Binfield Moles Soccer school has been unwavering for years in its introduction for young children to enjoy their first football adventures! A large majority of these little ones continue their footballing journey through the club’s age groups! An amazing club!.”

Another added: “This is a great introduction to football for kids aged 3 up to year 1 of primary. Held most Sundays on the first team pitch at Binfield with typically 35-60 kids in attendance. The kids have the opportunity to practice their football skills in a safe and fun environment. The Soccer School has been the feeder to the junior teams for many years with many players staying with the club through to the U18s. Run by Bob Chapple and Alan Clarke the guys are always ready to welcome new players and help them start their footballing journeys.”

A third said: “For many years Bob Chapple had been running a soccer school at Binfield FC which week in week out has been very popular with the local community with an average of 50 boys and girls attending each week this is mainly done by word of mouth showing what people think of the great job he and his team are doing.”

The sort of details we love to see include things like player awards, goals, clean sheets and any other significant contributions to the footballing community – obviously within the 2023/24 season.

We’ll publish all the nominees for the Berkshire Football Awards as we receive them.

You can view all the 2024 nominees so far here.

We will present certificates and a trophy to the winners.

  • You can nominate as many people as you like for each award
  • Please try and avoid nominating your own family members.
