Young referee Ollie Kaya has been nominated for a Berkshire Football Award in the Rural Pie Co Referee of the Season category.
A previous winner of the award, Ollie is well regarded locally and at last check (although we stand to be corrected on this) is now a level 4 referee which according to Wikipedia means the following: Level 4 referees referee supply league matches, but also take on the role of assistant referees in contributory league matches (e.g. the Isthmian League and the Northern Premier League).
The nomination we received said: “Making superb progress and could go all the way. Has the attribute that so many young referees don’t have, people skills.”
