Reading FC’s 150th anniversary fixture with Luton Town has been postponed at the weekend after a Covid-19 outbreak at the club.

The news has left Royals fans wondering what to do on a rare match-free Saturday.

Thankfully, the areas non-league club, Reading City have come to the rescue with the generous offer of free entry to any Reading season ticket holders or anyone who had bought a ticket to the match.

A social media post from the Cityzens said: “Following the sad news that Reading’s 150th anniversary celebratory game against Luton has been postponed due to several Covid-19 cases within the Royals camp, we’re offering all Reading season ticket holders and anyone who purchased a matchday ticket for Reading v Luton free entry to the Rivermoor this Saturday.”

An added bonus for Reading fans could well be the chance to see one of the heroes of the clubs record breaking 106 side in action again. James Harper is signed on with Reading’s opponents Ascot United and has played six times since joining from Windsor this season.
